A ShadAmy Christmas

The ground was covered with light, fluffy snow and many people hurried about with last minute shopping and errands before the big Christmas holiday. Today was Christmas Eve and the whole gang was having a party at Sonic's house to celebrate.
Sonic laid out on his couch lazily as he waited for his friends to arrive so the party could begin. They had all planned on meeting at his house at 7:00 and staying over until Christmas morning. Everyone had agreed to come, even Shadow who was usually one to miss these type of social events.
"It seems kind of weird that Shadow is actually gonna come this year." Sonic thought out loud to his friend Tails who was finishing up some touches on some Christmas decorations.
"Well maybe he was starting to feel lonely," Tails stated simply as he climbed down from the ladder he had been standing on so he could reach the top of their Christmas tree.
" Shadow feeling lonely?" Sonic blurted out unbelievingly, "I hardly think that could be it Tails."
"Well then what other explanation is there?" Tails asked. "I mean yeah, it's Shadow, but people can change, right?"
"I guess so," Sonic replied, still unsure, but he quickly pushed the thought aside smirking. "Eh, it doesn't matter really. I'm glad he's decided to come this year even if he is a bit of a party pooper, haha." Tails rolled his eyes at Sonic's witty remark, but couldn't help smiling at it himself. There was a dinging noise as the doorbell rang, and Tails rushed to open the door, somehow getting there before Sonic did.
"Oh hey Blaze and Silver," he said happily as he let them into the living room, and shut the door behind them. They sat down next to each other on one of the couches and Blaze took her coat off, draping it over the back of the couch. They both had wrapped presents with them that they placed on the table in the middle of the room.
"So no one's here yet except us I'm guessing?" Blaze asked, giving Silver an 'I-told-you-we-wouldn't-be-late' look. He shrugged embarrassedly at her and she just rolled her eyes.
"Yep, you guys are the first ones," Sonic said with a smirk.

After a few minutes Sally, Knuckles, and Rouge showed up with their presents and settled in. Cream was dropped off by her mother soon after and she quickly joined the others as they talked about different things while they waited. Everyone was here except Shadow and Amy which seemed odd to Sonic. Last year she was the first person to arrive, but this year she was running late.
"Sonic, is everything alright?" Sally asked, having seen the puzzled look on his face.
"Yeah, I'm fine Sally," he replied, showing his trademark smile and relaxing a little. Suddenly the doorbell rang and Sonic was quickly at the door and had it opened before anyone else could make a move.
"Sonic!" came the familiar female's voice as she quickly embraced him and then pulled back. "I'm sorry for being late."
"It's alright Amy." he replied, as he watched Amy pass by to join the others. Shadow quickly made his way in after her, avoiding saying anything to Sonic. He continued into the room, sitting by himself on one of the sofas and relaxed, not bothering to join in the conversations.
Sonic quickly shut the door and joined the rest of the group, ready to get this party started.
"Alright everyone, let's start this party up!" he said loudly, getting his friend's attentions. "What do ya say we do first?"
"How about truth or dare ?" Rouge suggested first. "I know Knuckie here wants to." she said slyly as she gave Knuckles a look that made him blush, causing everyone to laugh. Sonic asked everyone in favor and everyone's hand shot up except for Shadow's.
"Guess that settles it then." Sonic said with a smirk as they all gathered around in a circle on the floor. The girls were anxious to play, but all the guys were noticeably nervous, with the exception of Shadow who seemed relatively calm on the outside. Cream, Cheese, and Tails were the only three there who didn't join in the game because they weren't into doing truth or dare. When they were all settled Rouge asked who wanted to start off the game, but no one raised their hand.
"Alright, guess I'll start us off," Rouge said excitedly when no one else jumped on the offer. "Okay Knuckles, truth or dare?" she asked him.
"Dare." he said confidently.
"Hmm, I dare you to...dance like an idiot for a full minute." Knuckle's face contorted in embarrassment as he got up and started dancing around the room to everyone's great amusement. When the minute was up he sat back down next to Rouge, his face slightly red.
"Alright Sonic, truth or dare?"
"Dare."
"Let's see...I dare you to sing Amy's theme song in a really high-pitched girly voice." Everyone started howling with laughter as Sonic got up and used a girly voice to sing Amy's entire theme song, throughout which Amy was doubling over on the floor in hysterics. He finished and quickly sat down again, glaring at Knuckles, but then faced Blaze.
"Truth or dare?"
"Truth!" she said quickly.
"Heh, are you and Silver dating?" he asked, causing Blaze and Silver to both look at him in alarm.
"W-What? Of course not!" Blaze said quickly, trying to hide the blush in her face.
"Oh come on Blaze, admit it," Rouge said, "we know you've both liked each other for some time."
"It's none of your business!" she flared suddenly, causing everyone to inch backwards a little. After a few seconds she calmed down, and the game picked up again.
"Truth or dare Shadow."
"Hmph, dare." he said calmly.
"Okay I dare you to...," she looked around scrutinizing each person and when she got to Amy something clicked and she continued, "....kiss Amy." There was a slight gasp from Amy and her face blushed strongly, but everyone else was eager to see what would happen; even Shadow. They turned towards each other and Amy closed her eyes waiting for the moment to happen. She felt his lips on hers, and instead of feeling cold and uncaring, it was warm and passionate. She let the feeling take her over and kissed back, forgetting that everyone was watching them until they were pulled apart by Rouge and Sonic. Shadow was visibly annoyed and Amy was still blushing, except it wasn't from embarrassment now.
"Sorry to break you two up, " Rouge said apologetically, "but if we hadn't then we wouldn't be able to continue the game for another 10 minutes at least." She winked at Amy and made her blush even more with the thought of what had just happened between her and Shadow.
The hours passed by and the gang continued to take turns humiliating each other and having a good laugh, but eventually stopped because they were running out of ideas. Everyone moved back and forth between the kitchen and the living room, enjoying some fresh baked cookies and other snacks, complements of Cream. Tails turned on some Christmas music and  the lights on the tree as everyone started socializing again.
The room was loud with conversation, laughter, and holiday music, so no one heard Amy as she slipped away up some stairs, down a hallway and out the back door. She wasn't sure what she was doing, but she needed to get away from the party for awhile. A big tree sat in the middle of the yard and she made her way to it through the now calf-deep snow. She reached the trunk and pulled her coat tighter around herself. A cold wind blew and made her shiver, making her wish she had stayed inside. She faced away from the house and leaned against the tree, looking up at the starry sky above her, lost in thought.
"I thought I might find you out here." came a voice suddenly, interrupting Amy's thoughts and making her turn in alarm.
"Oh, it's you Shadow," she said relieved, "I was just out here getting some fresh air." He made his way over and stood next to her, watching as she looked up into the sky again in deep thought.
"Is there something on your mind Amy?" he asked her curiously.
"Oh, um, well...," Amy stammered as she felt her face start to blush wildly. "I, uhh...just wanted to ask you about, uh,...that kiss earlier...."
"Oh?" he asked in confusion. "What about it?"
"Um, well....did you actually mean it or was it just because of the dare?" She looked at him, unsure what he would say, but every part of her wished he had felt the same as she had. She looked away, scared of his answer, but soon found herself being embraced in his arms.
"I meant every second of it," he whispered to her, making her smile. She pulled away and looked up at him, still smiling, which in turn made him smile. They turned and started walking back towards the house, talking softly to each other. The house was quiet when they entered, so they stepped slowly into the living room to try not and wake anyone. Amy slipped over to the tree and picked up a small box with a bow on top, which she gave to Shadow. He looked at it, but instead of opening it he put in on the table and took the bow off, sticking it to Amy's forehead.
"What did you do that for?" Amy asked with confusion. He smiled at her, sliding his hands around her waist.
"I appreciate the gift Amy, but all I truly want for Christmas....is you." He pulled her forward, quickly kissing her but still with the same warmth and passion he had shown earlier. When they separated, Amy took him by surprise and pulled him into another kiss, this time making it longer and more passionate than before. When she stopped and looked up at Shadow, she could see a light blush forming on his face and it made her giggle softly. It wasn't long before Amy was laying on one of the couches in Shadow's arms and drifting off to sleep.
"Merry Christmas, Shadow," she said quietly with a smile as her eyes closed and she fell asleep. Shadow looked down at the sleeping female and lightly kissed her cheek.
"Merry Christmas to you too, Amy."
